In a box formation, the back two players cannot attack at the net. The team, which has affected the block, shall have the right to three more contacts, with the blocker having the right to make the first of the three allowable hits. A ball hit into the net, by a team may still be kept in play up to 3 hits provided that the net is not touched by a player. It is legal to contact the ball with any part of the body above the waist as long as the ball rebounds immediately and does not "lay" against the body.

If the time limit of 50 minutes invoked in any of these scenarios, the team ahead at the expiration of time will be declared the winner of that game.

The League Representative and the Referee, at the direction of the League Representative, have the discretion to override the time limit and allow a game to conclude. A 2 minute warning will be announced verbally by the game official or tournament director prior to the expiration of time. Breaks between games during a match will not exceed 3 minutes. Contact of the ball during blocking shall not constitute playing the ball.

As an amateur volleyball player, I know that the net error while blocking or attacking is a very common mistake. You can lose a solid amount of points with such a stupid fault. But over the years, I have learned simple rules to avoid touching the net.

The best way not to touch the net is keeping some distance from it. When you jump to block, stand a couple of inches or centimeters away from the net. Give yourself enough space for your arm movement so you can comfortably jump to block without thinking about the net. Jump in a safe distance from the net. Consider that you also have to land. After years of playing volleyball I know that the only way of not coming into contact with the net is training.

The more you play, the better you are. I can tell you the best piece of advice, but they are useless without any practicing.
