Are there instances in gw2

The Chinese version of the game is setup in a third region and does not share any resources with the NA or EU regions. To transfer to a different world, go to the character selection screen using F12 or when you first log in and select the desired world; you will be logged out while the game makes these changes, which might take minutes.

You can transfer once every seven days at a cost determined by the destination server population. Free accounts cannot transfer to different worlds. Players who transfer will not earn pips in WvW until two WvW resets have occurred following your transfer a maximum of just under 14 days, a minimum of just over 7. Players can invite others to visit their home instance. If a character visits a home instance in a city other than their home city for example, a charr visiting Salma District , they will see a basic version of the district without any story-related changes.

However, most upgrades are available to all characters in the account and visitors to the instance. Upgrades can be added to home instances for all characters on the account.

When entering as a group, the instance owner's upgrades will appear and can be used by other party members. Harvesting nodes and chests can only be gathered once per day per account. These upgrades can be added by purchasing the relevant upgrade from the Gem Store.

These upgrades can be added, either by purchasing them with Black Lion Statuette , as very rare drops from Black Lion Chest or directly from the Trading Post. These upgrades can be added by earning the relevant consumable from achievements. These upgrades can be added by purchasing the relevant consumable from various vendors. By Raidel. To start things off, a short story. I really want get bladed top piece, but there's only 2 ways to get it, PvP or Verdant Brink nighttime meta event. Since I'm not a PvP player, the only other choice for me is the meta event, problem is, currently, Verdant Brink is very much dead. Been trying to get it done for 2 weeks now, no luck, always get stuck at tier 3 at the very most, or wont even go beyond tier 1.

Would I have been able to join an actually active instance before all this begun, I would have finally succeeded. So I ask this arenanet, WHY isn't changing instances a free choice!!? Why does the game always throw me into these mostly dead instances and thus causing me to completely miss out the map meta event.

I cant solo champions or map bosses, I cant fend off a whole squad of elite creatures from a defensive point, and I can't push map meta completion to max by myself, this is utterly bogus!! Considering how map meta event important the HoT and PoF maps are, this should be a mandatory thing! Not waiting for a small chance that you get the automatic change prompt. So why isn't changing instance already a thing?

You can use lfg to taxi into an active map. I use that to get into successful runs on VB on regular basis EU. Anyone remember the Legendary Karka fiasco? Players switching instances and getting dozens of precursors after the event was over.

So Anets answer to that problem was not to fix it, but remove an entire mechanic? That sounds utterly dumb. But no, you can't choose your instance.

You can just exit and return, and hope you're in a new map. Or team with someone in another map, then join them on theirs. No, it wasn't ever a 'thing'. People had access to the same techniques available today: party up with someone in another instance already and use the "join in" feature to change to their map or return to character-select and try again.

And no, no one got "dozens of precursors. It was basically the same as AB multi-loot or Istan Multi-loot except that there was a guaranteed reward of an exotic. Since every exotic has a chance to be a precursor and since at the time there were half a million people online at a time at least at peak, which was near enough that week to be plausible , of course some people were getting precursors and linking them.

So it seemed like a lot relative to the nothing we normally notice. This mode is relatively straightforward for a pick-up-group to complete.

Personal storylines and dungeon story modes are parallel: the dungeon story mode does not affect a player's progression of their personal story nor the outcome of the story, but still occurs at the same time storywise. The storylines converge just for the last mission which takes place in The Ruined City of Arah. Completing the story mode of a dungeon for the first time will result in a letter in your mailbox, along with a headpiece reward and Story mode completion is character-based, not account-based, and so must be redone for each new character.

Please note that the coin rewards may be affected by gold find, and these numbers may be inadvertently inflated. Explorable mode is available for characters that have completed story mode on that character and meet the level requirement. Only the player that opens the dungeon instance needs to meet these requirements. Explorable mode deals with the aftermath of the events in story mode.

The explorable dungeon story is told with fewer cutscenes and little cinematic dialogue, and the player party is no longer joined by members of Destiny's Edge but by other local NPC. The player is presented with at least three different paths to play through for each dungeon. The party votes on the option they will take through the dungeon and the majority determines which path they take. This mode requires significantly more coordination between team members and so is far more difficult than story mode.

Completing a dungeon in explorable mode awards coin , experience, and dungeon currencies. These currencies can be used at a Dungeon Merchant , to buy weapons, armor, runes, and other items. Each dungeon has its own unique weapon and armor set modeled according to the theme of the dungeon.

These items are no more powerful than items which can be gained doing other activities in-game, the exotic sets are equal to the level 80 exotic crafted sets. Completing an explorable path for the first time each day rewards an additional bonus chest which contains:. Mini-dungeons are persistent open world dungeons. Jumping puzzles are included in the definition of a mini-dungeon. Some mini-dungeons become available only after an event chain is completed. Characters are dynamically leveled up or down to the level appropriate for the relevant story or explorable mode, except for Fractals of the Mists , for which characters are always boosted to level A nearby waypoint increases accessibility.

Dungeon instructors at the entrance may explain the basics of each dungeon. Characters are scaled to level 80 for these instances which are only available during the relevant special event.
