This was so helpful! I had no idea about the kid size conversion — what a bargain! So I did some further investigation, and it looks like a 7.
So, if you tend to be a 7 or 7. However, if you tend to be a 7. Crew shoes. This is so exciting! Thank you so much for doing the research! I love your red Hunters and you are spot on with this guide! I LOVE my red huntress boots. My tall boots give me a little trouble. Short ones are good! Hi Kelly! Are you wearing the Tory sunglasses you tagged the other day? I live in mine in the spring and fall due to gardening, walking my pup, etc.
I love the Tory Burch version! They look so similar! Thank you so much for the Le Chameau recommendation! I will definitely have to look into those! Great advice! Your suggestion to use olive oil to get rid of the blooming sounds like it would work on the glossy boots, but would it also work for the matte ones?
Anything you can tell me would be super helpful! I love both glossy and matte, but I think glossy is prettier. The matte is more outdoorsy, in my opinion. Blooming suggests that something is wrong with the rubber — take this up with the manufacturer — this is a fault.
If you want to clean your boots, use plain soapy water and rinse off afterwards then buff using a scratch-free buffer. When you buy your boots tell your supplier that if special cleaning materials are required then they should be in with the price and included in the box. Plus, you added a lot of personal experience that makes it very helpful. Thanks for the review and being so thorough! Thank you so much for your kind note!
Hope your daughter loved her boots! My daughter just received a pair of red glossy Hunters in size 6, but they slip on her heel, even with thick socks. Thanks for the info. Oh no! What size is she usually? Usually a 6, I think. We ordered the 5 today….. You look great in yours, too! Thanks, Kathy! Fingers crossed for you… Sounds like the 5s will fit perfectly if the 6s were slipping off!
Thank you for all the info! Got them for my birthday and they fit big, went and exchanged them for a whole size smaller and they feel snugged. Where did you get it???!! Hey, Karina! So sorry for the late response. Hi Kelly This is so helpful, I want to buy my best friend some Hunters for her birthday and shes petite so i think the Kids will be best. I just wanted to check, when you say the shaft is 12 inches, is that measuring from the sole of the foot or does that include the heel?
Thanks xx. Hi Tina! It includes the heel! Thanks for the helpful article Kelly! However, you know how you wrote for no. Can you please help recommending? No, I would recommend the original ones. They have a smaller shaft circumference. I have very small calves as well and riding boots usually look huge on me , but the originals work GREAT for me!
Thanks so much for all of this great info! Mine are Military Red! I would say that most are warm enough for the fall and spring, but not winter.
I have the original fleece ones and the sweater-like ones. Do you know the difference between ghe back strap wellington and the original tall? The back part of the wellington boots are shorter? I just found your blog after googling Hunter Boots and wanted to say: 1. I really like your writing style and the fact that you reply ALL your comments! This post is really useful and clarified most of my questions, but I would like your opinion in 2 more: a I live in Frankfurt Germany and usually the lower temperatures in winter are around zero.
The next 6 months are very wet here and I walk 20 min to work everyday. I am afraid they will be slimmer or less comfortable then the original are the original comfortable??
With socks, I can get away with them in the 30s, but my toes get chilly REALLY easily, and I typically switch to warmer boots when we dip into the 20s. The originals are super comfy! Do you mind sending along a link to the back strap model? Hey, thanks so much for answering! I am Brazillian and this is my 2nd winter, I am still getting the hang of having temperatures below 18 Celsius.
Aww thank you! The only thing I notice is that the leg is a bit slimmer than the originals. If you are consistently below zero Celsius, then Hunter and others do wellington boots with neoprene linings like a wetsuit to allow you to stay warm.
Some might say that these wellingtons are less stylish, but exchanging warmth for style might be a good way to go, and Hunter do have some wellies in e. Dark Iris with a neo lining which bridge the gap between style and function. Between the two colors, I like and wear my pink pair a lot more than black. So if you fall into one of those categories, take advantage! Looking for outfit ideas to wear on a rainy day with your Hunter rain boots? Here are 5 ways to style them.

Have somewhere to be on a rainy day, but you still want to look cute and put together? As you can see, there are so many options Hunter offers their customers from the colors to the fits to the styles.
I just purchased the original in matte. Did you spray a protective spray before your first wear? If so, which did you use? Yes definitely spray the protective spray before your first wear. I use the spray that I have linked in this post by Hunter!
This post has been so helpful, thank you! If so, any suggestions on sizing? So I measured my feet and found my right foot 1CM shorter than my left the larger one measures According to the Hunter site, I should just purchase UK 6 since they state their insole at They fit a bit more snug and more narrow so I think the 7 in these would be the best choice! Quick question, if I were to get the refined short rain boot, is there an insole that Hunter makes that I can purchase?
So sorry for the late reply. The insoles fit ALL Hunter boots. For the Chelsea boot do you want to size up or down? I normally wear a 7. I just got a pair of the tall, glossy black. However, they a very tight in the calf.
I never thought I had big calves! Do they come in a wide width? Should I try to size up yo an 8? Did you buy the Refined style or the Original? If you bought the Originals your normal size should be fine. I have large calves too and the one size up refined style works perfect for me.
I hope that helps and that you find a pair to fit you well! Hi, question! I bought the redefined tall hunter boots and they seem to fit snug around the calf. I love the style though. The big advantage of the boots was that they were sturdy and very enduring. It was hard to cut them and so people who were used to rationing for food, clothing, and materials really enjoyed a sturdy boot that was hard wearing and would last them for a long time.
Today, the most famous rubber boot is the Hunter Wellies. Are glossy Hunter boots better than matte? You don't often find patterned Hunter wellington boots, so if you want ceremonious, stand out style, the Hunter Original Gloss are probably your safest bet.
Some wearers find that the Hunter Original Matt boots are better if you are likely to get mucky, as they are better at disguising dirt or grime. What size should I get in Hunter boots? Sizing: As far as sizing, Hunter boots are only offered in whole sizes. If you're between sizes, I would recommend going down a half-size. Hunter boots are a little clunky and I think you're better off a little snug verses too big! I'm typically a 7.
Do Hunter boots last a long time? It's also true that one pair of Hunter shoes or boots could easily last two or three times as long as the competition. How do you keep Hunter boots from cracking? Wash the entire boot with a degreasing soap and a soft cloth. Rinse the boot with clean water to remove any soap residue.
Dry the boot completely with a towel. Pinch open the crack in the boot.
